Let’s assume you just started up your own business or website. You know the only way for the venture to be a success rather than fail is for you to promote it. This can be achieved either by paying for advertising or get the same attention for free through article marketing.
The first thing you should do is research your article marketing topic. There are many excellent keyword tools on the market to help you choose which targeted phrases will bring you visitors but also you need to make sure there is little competition as well or you won’t get good rankings at the search engines. Your keyword phrases need to be relevant to your website and be getting plenty of search queries but not lots results. You can read a more detailed post about keyword tools for a better understanding.
Once you have chosen your targeted phrases you will need to use it in your articles title, several times in the first paragraph, a couple of times in the body and once again within the closing sentence for best results.
Always write for the reader when article marketing. In other words write it for humans, not the search engines. We can help our articles climb the search engine rankings but they won’t do us any good if people read the first sentence, decide it’s rubbish and hit the back button. Keep it easy to read and to the point. Use bullets as they can better get a point across.
Once completed, read it a few times and make sure it is written correctly and that you have your keywords in the right places. Once you have done that, check it again, several times. If something doesn’t quite read correctly, write it again and remember while you may be an expert on the topic, your reader is not.
Summing up your article is the most important {part-section} and most who use article marketing miss this point completely. Your article gives the reader information that they have looked for but now you want them to get yet more info by clicking thru your blog. Be loud and clear about the benefits of clicking and visiting your site. “Click here for more info” does not work any more. Explain to them exactly why they should and what they can expect to find: a a much more thorough look at the topic, important list of links they will find useful etc.
Finally be particular where you submit your articles and it makes a huge difference if you rewrite the article each time you submit it to a directory or blog feeder. Submit the first version to ezinearticles.com and hang fire until they accept it before submitting it to similar article directories. This is because ezinearticles are the busiest so get you most traffic but they won’t articles that have already been submitted on other sites.
Article marketing is still by far the best way of promoting a site without spending big money on advertising. Just one article every day means around close to a hundred articles on perhaps 1000’s of blogs in just three months from now all with links aimed at your business.
When you see the great results and want to go to another level with your article marketing have a look at submitting your articles to Article Marketing Automation. It means a bit more work as the articles take around 3 times as long to write but the results are 15 to 20 times better.
